This week has a heavy feeling attached to it. Intensity and frustration are built into communication and thoughts themselves for now. Falling over the edge of focus and into obsession is a possibility. There could be a sinking weight that feels like it has attached itself to you. Now would be a fruitful time to investigate that weight and possibly gain some understanding into how you could release or transmute some of it. Themes of loss and power struggles are also likely. How are thoughts and words at work in your life to persuade or convince yourself or others? What thoughts are repeating endlessly for you, and how do you understand them to influence your actions? Now is a challenging but potent time to break patterns and cement new ones. We did a fair amount of dreaming last week, but this week asks us to sit with what we lose when we break the habits, patterns, and systems that structure our reality.
Try to go slow and observe what you are fixated on at the beginning of the week. These are primarily older themes, but new information or ideas will likely activate them at the moment. You may experience a more extreme version of your anxieties or darkest beliefs, so take care to ground yourself in reality before acting on them. Hopefully, you come to a more nuanced, and not a deeply contrasted, account. What can you break down and change into something more useful?
The middle of the week might land with a thud or at least reduced inflammation. Think back to mid-August of 2020 and the frustrations and losses that brewed until and peaked in mid-November. Those themes will continue to be brought low in your life, and you may find resources to deal with those issues are scarce for the next few months. This is not to discourage you, but to offer some solace to a time that may be frustrating. Investigate where you feel less energized or less combative. These are the situations that feel like they have lost their spark or places where you were toiling doggedly, and now some finality arrives. This is not inherently a negative outcome. It could be something you were tired of fighting for and finally win.
The end of the week will help concretize things. A somber tone is to be expected, but not from drudgery. Reality and its rational responsibilities will present themselves, but there is still some room for pleasure or excitement to coexist. Keep an eye on mental health issues during this time. If you have loved ones who carry these kinds of burdens, check-in on them now. If you yourself live with any configuration of mental health struggles, try to reach out to your support network as soon as can if you notice them showing up. With any luck, there will be a silver lining of unity around shared efforts, even if those efforts continue to endure frustrations.
