28 dec - 3 jan ◆ closings and openings

This week sees us exploring our containers and boundaries. After a tense month in a grueling year, this time feels more like a moment to relax. The absence of forced changes provides this feeling, but the rosier hue may not be the whole story. Less energetic than the last few weeks, this one is perhaps most useful for creative endeavors and exploratory ideas. Dancing with some wishful thoughts or releasing, carefully, into some leisure could be more productive than grinding away at necessity's stone. Those of us who are afflicted with addiction could have a tougher time with the fluid, emotional nature of this week. Creatives can access their muses, but not all of them have something helpful to offer. The heartfelt tug to be with loved ones, be social, or just have some fun will soak this time, so remaining prudent about healthy limits will be more complicated. This time of year is when most of us reflect on the past and begin thinking about the future, which is actually supported this time around. Consider inventive changes you have made and new revisions or evolutions that could help you.
The start of this week is likely more emotional than usual. That is not always a negative thing, but sentimentality is more pronounced now. Look around to see what is being revealed about how you care for yourself and others. What real or imagined places give you space to process and integrate your feelings? Try to visit for a while and see if you need to do some decluttering or sprucing up. What other habits or structures in your life support or block your emotional well-being? Can you change them or find a clever workaround?
Mid-week, the last days of the year, will have a cut-loose quality. The desire to party or escape into pleasure will be full force. Thursday has the potential to become heavy or unpleasant, so try to ride any optimism, or you could be worse for the wear. There might be a wish to go to excess because of previous restrictions, harshness, or upsets, but that seems unwise. A revelation that the glass is half-empty, and not half-full, is possible. Watch for something too good to be true to reveal its cracks. Creative output flows more easily now, so take some exploratory steps to see what you can uncover.
The end of the week, and the beginning of 2021, shifts us into a more practical approach. Since we had some time for extended daydreaming, now is a useful time to examine any hopes or plans we conceived. Stretching beyond our usual confines can be stressful, but change and growth are necessary to bring our goals into reality. Our visions' immaterial nature makes them susceptible to forming inside the containers of reality, so allowing them to be big and unfettered is an important step to breaking out of patterns that no longer help or protect you. The weekend's solid quality provides a moment to consider thoughtfully implementing these new plans. On a smaller scale, assessing some fixes or improvements in your physical dwelling could be a good use of this time.
