1-7 march ◆ replace filter
There are many words to describe last week, but they all probably sound like a groan in the end. We now have the opportunity to fan the flames, spark our creativity, and give value to the breadth and depth of our interconnectedness. Liminal times, like last week, are hard work as we must absorb certain parts to rework them into something new. Once through, we can appreciate the flexibility and renewal that we are afforded. Freeing up some of ourselves to be more pliable invites a plurality of solutions. There are many ways to peel an orange. Where have we been too fixed in the ways we are doing things? What desires are we unable to dig out of the dirt?
It would be a pleasure to report that everything is moving forward just fine, but we are likely to be presented with one or two too many options for how to take action. Sometimes this leads to inaction from decision fatigue or an inability to get things off the ground at all. This month’s diffuse nature can shake up new ways of interacting and new challenges around focusing once the abundance arrives. We can be thankful for the versatility as most of us were tired of the routineness. Reflecting on filters can give us some help during this windy time. Things like to-do lists and schedules allow us to filter what we are focusing on and how much time we are giving it. What other tools do we have to sort through a build-up of things to do? Since the pace will pick up quickly, it’s easier to organize and outline before we get swept up in it. It’s also possible we could be asked to release the rigidity of planning and scheduling, but be sure to maintain those tools even if they are not in use at the moment. Life will start happening swiftly, and the freedom we are cultivating will need them before too long.
We are shifting from a more equitable and communicative place into some emotional depths that may leave us stuck at the start of the week. If there is something, or someone, antagonizing you, try to remember that our responses to problems, and not the conditions of the issues, are in our control. It may be challenging to find the drive to begin this week, but that changes soon.
The middle of the week holds the main events. There is a noticeable reinvigoration that could be welcomed with open arms or give way to an anxious overdrive--likely something in between. If you have been noticeably low-energy or are feeling overwhelmed at the moment, try to engage with only what is necessary. What opportunities are appearing now? What new ways of thinking can expand the scope of your goals? Investigate what your networks of people can do for you and what you can do in return. It doesn’t matter which comes first since no one is keeping a ledger, but reciprocity is essential.
Plan for a jump start to the weekend. Thursday night through Saturday brings a social surge. If the first third of the week left you dazed or hoarse, Sunday offers some grounding and containment. It may not be relaxing, but it will help focus and give a container to the week’s chaos. As we move from a brisk walk into a full jog, plan some cooldowns and breaks along the path while we (try to) acclimate.
